The Little Gem Magnolia is a dwarf of the classic southern magnolia, with smaller foliage and a very compact, narrow form. Fragrant blooms are large, white and very attractive. This variety is evergreen! Looks beautiful trained as an espalier against a fence or wall.
The Magnolia is a family of magnificent, fragrant blossomed trees and range in size from shrub to large, striking trees. They are all stunning. Their striking flowers are soft and thick and range in color from white to pink, red and purple. Their foliage varies from shiny and waxy to green and enormous. In addition, they are generally ignored by deer!

||Fertilize annually after the third growing season, in early spring prior to new growth. Prune for structure only early on. Sheer annually after flowering.

||Clay, Loam, or Sand soil. Prefers enriched, moist, well-drained soil with a neutral to acidic pH. Does not do well with wet roots. Water deeply, regularly in first few growing seasons to establish an extensive root system; once established, reduce frequency.
