Evergreen Nursery is your local, independent nursery and garden center. We started in 1984 on MacArthur Blvd in San Leandro, and moved to our current location on San Leandro Blvd 10 years later, to expand and better serve our East Bay community. We specialize in service, quality products, selection and value. Our extensive selection of plants includes California Natives, drought tolerant plants, fruit trees, organic and conventional vegetables and herbs, succulents, grasses, perennials, annuals, shrubs, Japanese maples, seasonal color, ground cover and more. You will find all the mulch, soil, and rock you need in our full service rock yard. We also carry a full line of seeds, bagged soils, fertilizers and pesticides - everything you need for a successful garden!
Indoors, we carry a huge range of house plants, from tall trees and specimen plants through affordable small plants, all accompanied by stylish and contemporary cachepots and other items.
We have over 100 varieties of California Native and drought tolerant plants, complete with informative signs and our very own plant finder to help you find the perfect plant for your garden. Not quite sure what you want, or what will work well in your space? We’re always happy to help you with plant selection and planting ideas.

Knowledgeable and Experienced Staff
Our knowledgeable staff have gained experience and expertise through years of nursery work, customer service, education and gardening. Many of our employees are home gardeners and are always happy to share personal experiences and hands-on knowledge. If you have a problem in your garden, bring us pictures, sample leaves and as much information as possible about the plant. We will be glad to help diagnose the problem, and give you the best information to help your plants recover.
Feeling a little overwhelmed? Not quite sure where to start your vegetable garden? Need some pruning advice? Want to learn how to make great planted containers? Come to our workshops! We offer free workshops throughout the year on a variety of different topics. Just keep an eye on our email newsletter or website to find out what is coming up next.
We are passionate about preserving and nurturing the natural beauty of our surroundings. Because of this, we work closely with Bay Friendly Gardening and Our Water-Our World to promote native plant varieties, and safer gardening alternatives. When choosing products to recommend, we prefer organic fertilizers and pesticides, though we do carry a full range of conventional gardening products as well.
