Plant Problem, Pest, or Disease Question?

If you need technical assistance with a plant problem, disease diagnosis, or pest infestation, you have two options.

Option 1: Send Photos & Description

Send photos to our Help Desk along with a description of your plant's issue and the best answers you can give us to all of these questions. This will give us the context to help figure out what's going on with your plant:

1. When did the problem begin or when did you first notice it?

2. Has the problem progressed and over what timeframe?

3. Approximately when did you purchase the plant and was it from our nursery or another?

4. How much daily light or shade does the plant receive on a regular basis?

5. How much water does the plant receive and on what watering schedule?

6. How much fertilizer has the plant received and when was the last application

7. What are your soil drainage conditions:

   • Does it take a long time to dry out or does it drain really fast?

   • Does water puddle easily on top of your soil or does it disappear quickly?

   • Can you dig into your soil easily or does it require real physical effort?

   • What is the texture of your soil when you dig into it; does it feel clumpy like clay or is it very loose like sand?

   • Do you use any mulch on top of your soil around your planting areas?

Response time: Usually within 3 to 4 days.

Option 2: Bring Us a Sample

Bring a physical sample to the nursery on the weekdays when our staff horticulturist is in on site to assess it. For the safety of our plant collection, please enclose all cuttings or plant material in a ziplock bag or other secure container. Thank you!

Response time: 24 to 48 hours or better.
