Description
Lavandula x intermedia is a hybrid, often called Lavandin, that offers cold-hardiness and heat tolerance! These look similar to English Lavender but tend to be taller, growing in compact mounds. The loose spikes of flowers are highly aromatic with one of the strongest scents among lavenders. Deer resistant, drought tolerant and a magnet for bees and butterflies! 'Phenomenal' blooms before other Lavandin and forms a compact, bushy shrub. Long flowering stems are topped by 5" spikes of bright light purple/blue flowers atop silvery gray-green narrow leaves.
Lavender is comprised of 47 different species, each with its own unique flower, foliage and distinct aroma. A favorite among gardeners and a wonderful plant for our climate. Evergreen, pollinator magnet, drought tolerant and deer resistant make this a gorgeous addition to all types of gardens.
