Description:
‘Claremont’ Flowering Currant is known for its striking pink flower clusters that bloom in late winter to early spring, often when little else is in flower. These blooms are highly attractive to hummingbirds and early pollinators.
Its upright form and soft green foliage make it a strong structural addition to mixed borders and native plantings. After flowering, it may produce small berries that are enjoyed by birds.
This shrub prefers well-drained soils and benefits from occasional deep watering during dry periods, particularly while establishing. Once mature, it becomes more drought tolerant.
Prune after flowering if needed to shape the plant. It is especially effective when planted where its early blooms can be easily appreciated.
