About the Workshop
Companion planting is the practice of growing certain vegetable plants and edible garden plants side by side so they help each other thrive, whether that means confusing pests, improving pollination, or making better use of garden space.
The Tandi Family Farms team will walk through their ecosystem-based approach to home gardening, the same methods behind their signature Victory Garden Project, with a focus on pairings that work well as our East Bay weather cools into fall.
What You'll Learn
- Which fall vegetable plants grow better as neighbors, and which ones to keep apart
- Simple, organic ways to deter common garden pests without chemical sprays
- How smart plant pairings support pollinators and other beneficial insects
- Timing tips for getting fall edible garden plants in the ground around San Leandro, Oakland, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Alameda, and Hayward
