Arbutus 'Marina' is a hybrid variety commonly known at the Strawberry Tree. This gorgeous evergreen tree can grow up to 40' and comes in low branching, multi-stemmed form or with a traditional standard single trunk. Sculptural branches with large green leaves sport beautiful, pendulous, rosy-pink flowers all year long. The fall and winter give us showy clusters of yellow to red berries that resemble strawberries. A remarkable feature of this tree is the bark that shreds away in strips to reveal the reddish to cinnamon-brown inner bark. Stunning for year-round interest. Tolerates drought once established.
Arbutus species are characterized by their white or pink bell-shaped flowers hanging in loose clusters and bearing fleshy red or orange berries. Many species have a distinctive and beautiful reddish bark.
