||Thanksgiving Cactus/Christmas Cactus
Lovely light red to salmon colored flowers adorn the arching branches of this Zygocactus.
Zygocactus (Schlumbergera truncata) is often sold as Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera x buckleyi), but it is actually a Thanksgiving cactus! The two belong to the same family and look very similar, except the leaves are slightly serrated on the Thanksgiving cactus and bloom earlier than the December blooming Christmas cactus. These succulents have arching leaf branches and gorgeous flowers. Easy to care for, we have a variety of colors of this lovely Zygocactus for you to choose from.
||Safe for kids and pets
|Level of Care:
||Full Sun. Bright, diffused light.
||Normal household humidity is fine for the Zygo.
||Even though this is a succulent, it is not the type that likes to be bone dry between watering. Zygocactus prefers evenly moist soil. Water when the top 1"-2" of soil feels dry to the touch.
||Cactus/Succulent mix. Well-draining.
||Fertilize with half strength all-purpose houseplant food during growing season: Spring-Fall. Prefers cooler temperatures, so keep away from heat ducts and warm blasts of air.
