||Magnolia x 'Vulcan'
The Vulcan Magnolia has vivid, 10"-12" large fragrant flowers composed of brilliant magenta petals that emerge on bare stems in the spring. Young trees are open branched, becoming more rounded with age.
The Magnolia is a family of magnificent, fragrant blossomed trees and range in size from shrub to large, striking trees. They are all stunning. Their striking flowers are soft and thick and range in color from white to pink, red and purple. Their foliage varies from shiny and waxy to green and enormous. In addition, they are generally ignored by deer!
||Can be trained in single trunk form or left in their natural, multi-branched form.

||Fertilize annually in early spring. Prune for structure only.

||Clay, Loam, or Sand soil. Prefers enriched, moist, well-drained soil with a neutral to acidic pH. Does not do well with wet roots. Water deeply, regularly in first few growing seasons to establish an extensive root system; once established, reduce frequency.
