Never, Never Plant
This Oppenheimiana is another beauty in this family of plants. Narrow, lance-shaped leaves are delicate and abundant. The green leaves have a wash of silver through the veins with striking green markings on the entire leaf. As with all calatheas, they can be temperamental. Provide yours with proper light conditions, well-draining soil and filtered water to keep this plant happy and thriving.
||NOT safe for kids and pets
||Dracaena, pothos, ZZ
|Level of Care:
||Medium Care: Calatheas can be sensitive: tap water, low humidity and bright light can result in brown edges and stress.
||High. You can place the plant on a pebble tray filled with water, use a humidifier or mist regularly to increase indoor humidity.
||Moist, but never wet, soggy conditions. Let top 1"- 2" of soil dry in between waterings. Sensitive to minerals in tap water; best to use filtered, rain water or tap water that has set out overnight.
||Regular potting mix; very well draining. Adding perlite can increase drainage.
||Fertilize monthly with balanced houseplant fertilizer during spring and summer.
