Prune freeze damaged plants now (if you haven’t already). But, wait to prune Spring blooming shrubs, until after flowering.
Slugs and snails are hatching in your garden right now, protect your plants with Sluggo.
Apply mulch: GreenAll Microbark Mulch will reduce moisture loss as well as keep roots cool in-ground and containers. Use mulches on established and new plantings.
Aphids are beginning to appear. Stop them early with Tip Top Ladybugs, Bonide Neem Oil or Monterey Take Down. The best time to spray is at the end of the day after the bees have stopped foraging. Use on roses and all your plants!
Use Monterey Complete Disease Control, a bacteria-based fungicide to prevent and cure Spring rust and mildew. (OMRI listed)
Check your irrigation system for any leaks and breaks before the season starts.
