Bring Saucer Magnolia blooms to your landscape: Magnolia x soulangeana
This is one of the first flowering trees of Spring, Saucer Magnolias will explode with blooms from now until mid-March. These medium, low-branched trees have large, saucer-shaped flowers, and offer elegant flowers for cutting into indoor branch arrangements. They are a welcome sign that Winter is nearing its end. Their fragrant, early-spring blossoms are shaded with light to deep pink or purplish-pink petals. The trees themselves have large deciduous, broad green leaves and take on a golden color in the Fall. In Winter you will see smooth silver-gray bark.
We have two varieties in stock at Evergreen. ‘Susan’ and ‘Alexandrina.’
Both tree varieties are medium to fast growing and have moderate wind tolerance and good pollution tolerance.
Saucer Magnolias prefer moist, deep, acidic soil, and full sun.
Hardy in USDA Zones 5-9.
