Roses are ready for planting
New to roses? No problem. We have all the types to make wonderful additions to any landscape situation. From climbing roses, easy-care shrub roses, prolific blooming floribunda, and fragrant hybrid tea, we have them all – over 40 varieties in store now.
Now is time to prune back your roses to improve plant shape and overall vigor. Remove any canes thinner than a pencil. Maintain plant health by pruning the best 5-7 canes down to 18-24 inches in an open vase shape. This promotes air circulation and reduces the chance of crossing branches. Cut at 45-degree angles to allow water to run off the canes, reducing the chance of fungal and disease issues.
To suppress potential disease issues harboring in your soil, be sure to remove any leaves from last year from the base of your plants.
When you plant be sure to amend your soil with Greenall Planting Mix and fertilize with E.B Stone Organics Sure Start. We also carry Bayer All-in-one Flower and Rose Care and E.B. Stone Organics Rose and Flower Food.
