In January of 1984, Dan Rodrigues and his fiancée, Jan, had an opportunity to buy an existing start-up nursery with gift shop and rock yard. With backgrounds in landscape/nursery and
business respectively (and a love of gardening), they seized the opportunity. Along with their four kids, two dogs and a nucleus of 4 employees (3 of whom are still with them today), Dan and Jan
have built a full-service, well-stocked garden center catering to avid gardeners looking for the best quality and largest selection.
In the San Leandro/San Lorenzo/Castro Valley region, full
service nurseries have all but disappeared, leaving Evergreen Nursery as the sole full service nursery in our community. We see this as an opportunity and a responsibility to provide the
best possible services and products to our customers.
We offer a large variety of plants year 'round and are able to accommodate many special
orders. Delivery service is available, as well as some installations. We even consult on-site by appointment and can recommend professional designers.
